About Us
The Southern Madison Water District was organized in 1968. It provides water service to approximately 5,800 customers in Southern Madison County in south central Kentucky, including portions of the city of Berea.
The Southern Madison Water District purchases water from Berea Municipal Utilities. The water supply is surface water which is better known as Owsley Fork, Cowbell, Kales and B lakes located on Berea College properties.
With our dedicated staff and board members, our commitment is to provide a safe, clean, and reliable supply of potable drinking water to our customers. We pledge that we will continue to monitor, improve, and protect the water system and deliver a high quality product at the lowest possible cost.

Staying Informed
The Commissioners of the Southern Madison Water District will meet in regular session pursuant to the law and the rules of said commission on the third Tuesday of each month at 10am at the District Office: 207 N. Dogwood Drive, Berea KY.
