CONSERVE WATER NOTICE FOR SOUTHERN MADISON WATER DISTRICT

June 20th, 2024 by Southern Madison Water District

6/20/2024

Due to the hot and dry weather conditions it is generating a high demand/usage on the Southern Madison Water District system. Due to this increase of supply and demand, it is generating a system wide exertion on SMWD water pressures throughout our service area (especially in the elevated areas) of 180+/- miles of water lines consisting of almost 6,000 customers. We are persistently working to resolve this issue, but we need our customers’ help to stabilize this problem.

We are asking our customers to conserve water by not watering (unless it’s a necessity) lawns, washing vehicles and filling pools. We will inform you whenever this issue has been resolved. SMWD is working hard to serve their southern Madison County residents and we appreciate your patience and cooperation in helping to stabilize this issue.

Sincerely

Southern Madison Water District
